The reason is that most of the time when an online or downloadable game is blocked, the game company’s servers are blocked too. This in itself isn’t the problem since the game company’s servers have their own IP addresses. The problem is that other players of the game can see the IP address of the game company’s servers. For example, some of you may have a game downloaded to your PC and you may be wondering why you can’t play it on your Mac.
So why cant you play your game on your Mac? Well, because the game company has banned your game on their servers. Some of you will never find this out because Apple’s servers are blocked on Macs.
Unfortunately, it’s not just developers who have to deal with this. The ISPs (Internet Service Providers) have the same problem, and the game companies have a similar problem. For example, some of you will be able to play your game on your PC if you buy a new modem, but if you buy one that uses a different port number, your game won’t play.
I’ve seen a lot of posts on here about the ban, but I’m still not too sure what the legal issue is. If you have a Mac or PC and you use the same computer as a Mac then I really really doubt its legal.
Legalities aside, the ISPs might not have access to a modem or other hardware that can play your game on your account. The games companies could be legally responsible for a hardware malfunction that prevented your game from playing. Even if the ISP has access to an older modem that could still be a problem.
So that is why Im not sure if my download games was banned or not. But if you are like me and you have a Mac or PC, then this is why its hard to get my games onto my Mac or PC. Because the ISP may not be able to access an older modem that would actually be able to play the game.

We’re assuming that the ISP that you’re talking to is not the ISP that your game is actually on. As a rule, if it’s a download game, then you’re going to get a “server error.” The last thing you want to do is try and download a game on someone’s computer when they’re online.
The best way to protect yourself from this is to check the ISP’s policy on how to download the game. You can usually find this out by contacting the ISP and asking them about their rules. As it turns out, the one that I was talking to was going to be unable to offer me a game because the ISP’s policy was that you can’t download games that youre not playing.
In this case I hadnt even tried to download a game. The game was about to start, the guy was online, I was on my phone, and I was trying to explain to him that I wanted a game, and that my pc is online. He thought it was some kind of joke, and I had a feeling that he’d be able to get it for free.
