I’ve never been one to be overly impressed with people that are doing great on their own. My friend Steve Kerr used to say “I can’t be in a room with a guy I’ve never met.” Well, I can! The guys I have met are the most humble and gracious of all of them.
One of the things I love about Steve is that he makes me feel like I have a chance to say something intelligent and insightful. I have so many of my own thoughts about the game and the industry, it’s hard to keep up. This interview with him gave me a chance to do that.
Anyone who’s played a game in a store, an arcade, or online knows that everyone is always talking about why they love the game or the particular arcade/game they played in. A lot of the time I just want to throw my arms in the air and scream, “What the hell is that?!” But I don’t, because I don’t know what that is.
The same way that you never really get to know a person until you’ve played a lot of the stuff they play, you really don’t get to know a game until you’ve played it a lot. Steve Kerr has played a lot of games, but I don’t think anyone has ever played the game Deathloop.
Deathloop is a new, single player action-adventure game from Arkane Studios. The game is set on a ghost-filled island where players must search for and defeat a series of eight Visionaries who have locked the island into one day repeating, and in so doing, have deprived the island of its power. The Visionaries control a group of characters called The Eight, and they are the game’s main villain.
Deathloop’s main mission is to hunt down the Visionaries. This means you’ll have to kill or be killed by all the characters you encounter. The game is designed to have a lot of stealth and puzzle elements and is full of opportunities to be sneaky, so keep your eyes peeled.
It’s a rather large project to be creating a game. You can use the game to see the game, and you can also use it to test out the game mechanics. And since the game is being designed to be difficult, youll have to use a lot of stealth and puzzle.
Well, as it turns out, it’s not nearly as difficult as it seems. It’s actually a lot more difficult than you would think. For one thing, it takes a lot of time to get to know all the characters you’ll be facing. And, of course, it requires you to take your time. You might not be able to finish in one go, but you are still able to play the game with a lot of time left.
It doesn’t help that youll also have to get to know the game world, which is a whole other thing. It turns out that in Deathloop youll be running around in a lot more than your normal run-and-gun style. It becomes really difficult to judge where the hell you are going to end up. And, at one point youll have to sneak around a building and find the exit. Youll have to do this all over a town full of very different people.
One of the best parts of Deathloop is the stealth system. While it can be a bit of a challenge to figure out where you can go, it also makes the game more fun to play. It makes sneaking around a lot more fun.
