From “The Two Amigos” to “The Matrix” to “The Hunger Games,” these are just a few of the many hidden games that we play in life. These hidden games aren’t merely played out on the board—they are present in our interactions with others, our beliefs, and our choices. As we learn to recognize these games and act accordingly, we become more aware of what we are doing and why.
This is one of the ways that we learn about ourselves. We learn about the hidden games in our lives and how we have chosen to play them, as well as what we are doing to stop the games from playing out.
Telltale Games’s new game “Dusk of the Dead” is the most interesting of the bunch. As I played it, I was reminded of a few things that I really did not know when I played it, such as that it was a horror game. (I’m a horror nerd.) It’s also an exercise in meta-cognition. In this game, you have to use the game’s game engine to figure out which of your choices were the most powerful.
Telltale Games has made the majority of their games so that you can’t control how they play out. It’s not just that they hide the controls from you. It’s because they are trying to make you think about what you are doing and how you are doing it. It is incredibly meta and it makes the game feel completely different than any other game out there. It makes the game feel like a game that you are, in fact, playing.
In the end, Telltale’s games are really easy to explain. If you can get yourself to enjoy them, they can be addictive, but if you can’t get yourself to enjoy them, they are really hard to play.
Telltale games are really easy to understand. If you can get yourself to enjoy them, they can be addictive, but if you cant get yourself to enjoy them, they are really hard to play.
Some people, however, will have a hard time understanding how their game can be addictive and hard to play at the same time. I know this for a fact because I have a difficult time getting myself to play some of Telltale’s games. I don’t know why. They’re such a mystery. I can’t get myself to play them. I don’t have it in me. I can’t get it to click.
