Catan The Settlers War is a game that plays similar to Catan. It’s a series of tower defense games that are popular in Japan. If you’ve played Catan before, you probably know that you need to upgrade your settlers’ fortifications every time they take damage. The game also has a bit of a story, and you need to earn points to defend the land from the vicious natives.
The game has been available in Japan for a while now, but now it’s gone international. A new Catan release is coming to North America in a couple of weeks. It’s an update to the game that adds better graphics, and it’s basically Catan with more of its old gameplay elements.

Although it doesn’t hurt that the games have a real-world setting, because you can feel like you’re in a time-loop.
The problem with a time loop is that you end up playing the same game over and over, and the only way to get out of it is to die. But since you can only play a limited amount of games at a time, this leads to a sort of “time-out,” where you have to play the game over again and over again until you get to the end.
For a game that is so good at creating a time loop, settlers of catan is probably the best example. But if you’re like me, you’re more than happy to sit through the same game again and again. It’s a great game, and I wish it was more frequently on my list of games I want to play.
