I’ve been a diehard supporter of the Chiefs for as long as I can remember. Before I was a Chiefs fan, I was a fan of the Seahawks, and to be honest, I am a fan of the Chiefs too. I get to see the games and follow the teams for years, and I’m always a fan. That being said, there are very few things that make me happier than seeing the Chiefs open up their schedule.
I have to stop myself from making jokes and pointing out that the Chiefs have opened up their schedule with a preseason game in the same city as the NFL’s most recent Super Bowl win. It’s not the first time this has happened either. The Giants and Raiders have played preseason games at Arizona Stadium. The Raiders won a Super Bowl there in 2002, and the Giants won a Super Bowl there in 2006.
A lot of people will have no problem with the Chiefs opening up their schedule, but I’m not sure it’s the right move. I don’t think its even the right move for the Chiefs. I think if the Chiefs want to keep their place in the postseason they need to keep their place in the preseason. That means getting players on and playing them in the exhibition games that will help them to get a better feel for what to expect in the regular season.
