Black souls is also the first game we’ve ever reviewed that has you as a player, because, in addition to being an amazing game, it’s also important to be accountable with our review process that we do. It’s important to be able to walk away from a game knowing we’ve done our best to represent them as accurately as possible.
It seems Black Souls is a very important game to get right because a lot of people ask what sort of game it is and why we should care. I think if you ask a lot of people they will say it’s a puzzle game. But, it is not. Its more like a story-driven puzzle game with a dash of action. It focuses on the idea of soul, which is a concept that makes sense to us because we understand that the universe is a living organism.
Soul is the idea that our DNA is a storehouse for the souls of all the people we’ve ever existed with. When we die we lose our souls and we are then reincarnated into new bodies with new souls. This is important to us because we know that there is a world outside of our own. As we age our bodies get more and more inflexible and we have to learn to adjust to our new bodies.
Our souls are stored in our bodies and our bodies are more and more inflexible as we age, so it is important to learn to adjust to our bodies. But learning to adjust can be a slow process as we get older, so what we do is train our bodies to adjust faster. To do that we use our souls in our bodies to do things that are more efficient.
Our souls are like “skills” that we have to learn to use in order to survive. The reason we have to learn to use these skills is because they are the means to an end. The end is death. But there are other end points that we can use our souls to attain. For our souls to be useful for something they have to be able to use what we learn to do.
Deathloop is the ultimate end point of being able to use your soul to attain end points. One of the things that makes Deathloop so exciting are its story elements. They are the main story elements of the game, but they are also the “story” of the game, which is the gameplay that is the core of the game. There is no story within this game, because the story is not the gameplay. It never stops.
The game is very much like your typical Metroidvania game, but instead of having to just find all the keys, you have to be able to open doors, find all the items, and find all the secrets. Deathloop is a Metroidvania and a Metroid, because the game is about exploring the island’s top left corner and finding all the different items and killing all the Visionaries.

It’s like a story of your own where you have to save people by finding the right items and killing the Visionaries.
